Alrighty, so I have recently joined the wonderful world of FEMINISM.
I am still working on getting the hang of it, but so far, I'm loving it. Just the idea of women/girls joining together as to big sisterhood to promote and advertise our strength and independence. Because you know what? SEXISM SUCKS. #todaysquotebysarah It's true though! Literally the worst thing is when somebody says ",Oh you can't carry that by yourself! Go find a boy to help you!" or when someone always picks a boy to do heavy-lifting. And this whole $0.79 thing is outrageous! Like, seriously world... it's the 21st century... Get with it! Ugh...
Sooooooooo one of my favorite ways to kind of boost that kind of 'girl power vibe' is through music! It is awesome that so many female artists are promoting this fabulous lifestyle through their work! I find this type of music so fun and inspiring. And tbh... most of it is perfect one-person-dance-parties-in-front-of-your-bedroom-mirror-singing-into-your-hairbrush kind of music. No shame here...we all do it! ;P
(Disclaimer: These songs are not listed in any specific order... they are just randomly numbered! Also, these aren't all feminism-based songs, but they do count as girl empowerment songs!
)
#1: Run the World (Girls)
Here' the link to the music video! For some reason I was unable to insert it right here ._.> Run the World (Girls) by Beyoncé
Demi Lovato slays... that's about it > Confident by Demi Lovato
That strut is the definition of confident^. Like slay queen, SLAY! So this song isn't exactly a feminist song, but its still girl power. Go, Demi!
#3: ***Flawless
Queen B takes it again.> ***Flawless by Beyoncé
What can I say? So many of Beyoncé's songs are based on feminism, and this one even has a speech about feminism in it! Like literally! Check it out for yourself!^
#4: Fight Song
Miss Platten, you're a pretty cool chick. >Fight Song by Rachel Platten
This song can have a lot of different meanings, but I like to think of it as her fighting to prove she's strong as both a woman and an individual.
#5: Girl in a Country Song
Maddie And Tae are freaking awesome. Period. >Girl in a Country Song by Maddie & Tae
Not gonna lie... I know ALL the words to this song. It's one of my favorites. It is literally feminist perfection and the music video is hilarious. Take a look for yourself^! The gif is priceless! Total role reversal...;P
#6: Boss
Fifth Harmony though... Girl power all the way! > Boss by Fifth Harmony
This song is literally feminism.... References to Michelle Obama and Oprah as well as pledging allegiance to independent girls... It's basically the girl anthem...
If you, read this whole thing than good for you! I'll reward you with a few more fabulous feminism GIFs!! <3
